What makes our security doors so special?

Security

Firstly, all our doors are made from steel. No aluminium extrusion. This makes for a much stronger door structurally, providing high levels of security and longevity. 

We start with a welded frame made from steel tube and flat bar. We then fill in the centre design which can be made from a variety of steel tube, bar, round rod or solid laser cut sheet, depending on the model. This design is then welded to the inside of the frame, so it's not going anywhere. 

There is a noticeable difference in the feel of a welded steel door, compared to an aluminium extrusion door. The weight and solidity is the biggest standout. 

Mesh

Adding to the security of the doors is the mesh we use. The heavy duty mesh is extremely strong and impenetrable with your everyday tools or utensils i.e. scissors or a box cutter. When we cut it to size in the factory we need to use an industrial guillotine, whereas the standard tuff mesh is cuttable with kitchen scissors. That should tell you all you need to know.  

We also offer a restricted vision mesh, that gives you ability to see out, but provides privacy when looking in. 

The mesh is installed with a clamping bar that is bolted in on the backside of the door. The bolts are tapped through the mesh and the frame, giving it enough strength for ultimate security.

Airflow

A key purpose for screen doors is to allow airflow, while still being secure. We've taken care with our designs to ensure that they aren't too crowded that air can't flow efficiently through and into your home. This is perfect for summer nights allowing a cooling breeze to flow while you sleep. 

For ultimate airflow check out the Eyre (pun intended), pictured below. It features a blank design, with only heavy duty mesh to allow airflow and keep you safe from unwanted entry. 

Colours

At Heatlie, we have access to a very large range of powder coat colours. With over 50 colours in house that we also use for our letterboxes, there is a colour to suit any house or situation. All doors are fully sandblasted before coating to ensure the powder coating looks nice, and is long lasting. 

Designs & Customisation

We offer a large range of door designs with enough diversity to suit differing styles of homes. From modern, simplistic designs with straight bars or no bars at all, to classic heritage designs with complex scroll work, chances are you'll find one to suit. 

The biggest plus is that we can offer customised designs. If you don't like what you see in our range, or want to tweak them slightly, that's no skin off our nose. With a full metal fabrication factory at hand anything is possible!
