Entrance Enclosure Guide

Entrance Enclosure Guide

Apart from specialising in standalone security doors to suit your home's front door, Heatlie Doors can also make larger surrounding structures to fill basically any space you need it to.

This is what we'd call an entrance enclosure. These are perfect for front patios, verandas porticos and the such.

The spaces that need to be filled will always vary on size, so we generally keep the door at a standard sizing, then construct surrounding panels to suit. There are 5 main ways to construct an entrance enclosure, see below.

Design 1

This is as big as an entrance enclosure can get, requiring side panels either side of the door, plus a top light panel above. This means you'd need a fairly big opening to fill, so these aren't incredibly common. It can sometimes make more sense to fill this space with double doors + one side panel.

Design 2

This one features one side panel and a top light panel.

Design 3

This is the most basic entrance enclosure featuring just a panel above the door. It doesn't even necessarily have to be an entrance enclosure either. It's very common in older houses to have a glass top light above the front door, so this design will match that giving full security.

Design 4

This is a common design made to match front doors with decorative glass panels either side. This is another one that is less of an enclosure of an open space, and more a security screen for front doors and their surrounding panels.

Design 5

This design incorporates a standard size door plus a side panel. The side panel can be on either side. This is usually ideal for porticoes and front entrance ways.
